After many days of resisting Arrest, Senator Dino Melaye was finally arrested today, but not definitely without his usual drama.
As reported, the senator in presence of some PDP senators, opened his door of his residence for the police today and slumped as soon as he stepped his feet outside.
It was gathered that the lawmaker was rushed to a police clinic in Garki Area 1 of Abuja and would be detained once he recovers as reported by Channels TV.
The Force spokesman, acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, he said:” While coming out of the house, he slumped to the floor and was later assisted onto his feet. He was thereafter taken to the office of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) in Guzape, Abuja”.
Moshood had alleged that Melaye refused to report to the Police Command in Kogi to answer the charges in spite of the letter written to the Clerk of the National Assembly.
“He is expected to meet the IG with other lawmakers to resolve his issues with the force.
Over 50 policemen had stormed Melaye’s mansion last week Friday in an attempt to arrest him for interrogation over the alleged shooting of one Sgt. Aliyu.”
Meanwhile, Melaye and his gang were accused of shooting a police officer, Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, attached to 37 Police Mobile Force (PMF), while on duty in Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi.
